- Software that learns patterns from data to make predictions, generate content, or take actions — instead of following only hand-written rules.
- AI-DLCAI Development Life Cycle
- BuildAhead's delivery methodology: AI accelerates the work, humans govern the decisions, and every step is reviewable.
- APIApplication Programming Interface
- A defined way for one piece of software to talk to another — how your website might fetch data from your CRM, for example.

- B-BBEEBroad-Based Black Economic Empowerment
- South Africa's economic transformation framework. BuildAhead is certified B-BBEE Level 1.

- CRMCustomer Relationship Management
- A system that stores your customers, leads, and the history of every interaction with them.
- CTACall to Action
- The button or link that asks a visitor to do something next — "Book a call", "Get a quote", "Sign up".

- FAQFrequently Asked Questions
- A short list of common questions and plain-English answers, usually grouped on one page.

- GPTGenerative Pre-trained Transformer
- The family of large language models from OpenAI (ChatGPT). One of several AI engines we use under the hood.

- HTMLHyperText Markup Language
- The base language every web page is written in. It describes the structure of the page — headings, paragraphs, images, links.

- IPIntellectual Property
- The code, designs, content, and ideas a project produces. With BuildAhead, you own 100% of the IP we build for you.
- ITInformation Technology
- The umbrella term for the computers, networks, and software a business uses to run.

- JSONJavaScript Object Notation
- A lightweight text format for exchanging data between systems. The default language of modern APIs.

- MVPMinimum Viable Product
- The smallest working version of a product you can launch to start learning from real users — not a prototype, not the final thing.

- POPIAProtection of Personal Information Act
- South Africa's data privacy law. It governs how businesses collect, store, and use personal information.

- ROIReturn on Investment
- What you get back compared to what you spent — usually as a percentage or a payback period.

- SASouth Africa
- Where BuildAhead is based — Cape Town, serving clients locally and internationally.
- SDKSoftware Development Kit
- A bundle of tools and code libraries a developer uses to build on top of someone else's platform.
- SEOSearch Engine Optimisation
- The practice of making a website easier for Google (and others) to understand and rank for relevant searches.
- SSRServer-Side Rendering
- When a web page is built on the server before being sent to the browser. Faster first load and better for SEO than purely client-rendered pages.
- SVGScalable Vector Graphics
- An image format that stays crisp at any size — used for logos, icons, and illustrations on the web.

- TTSText-to-Speech
- Turning written text into spoken audio using a synthesised voice.

- A web address — e.g. https://buildahead.company/glossary.
